In our house is a folder with many possibilities to go somewhere, eat out or be active. In the Lot, there are enormous opportunities to make new memories in your holidays. Here are some of our tips.

Cultural trips

And of course, besides the lovely stay at La Foussimagne, there is plenty to do. Both nearby and a little further afield. In France, we quickly speak of the “French fifteen minutes” to go somewhere from your location in the countryside (a la campagne).

  • Les Circuit des Cabanas de Limonge - a 3.5km hiking trail along old huts an hour away  - more info
  • La Roque-Gageac - one of France's most beautiful villages, nestled against an immense limestone cliff in a meander of the Dordogne river - more info
  • Château de Larroque-Toirac - a beautiful castle in the rocks 1.5 hours away - more info
  • Saint-Cirq-Lapopie - a beautiful castle in the most beautiful village in France, really worth a visit the rocks 1.5 hours away - more info
  • Rocamadour - after Lourdes, it is France's most visited pilgrimage site - more info

Delicious dining out

Eating out in the Lot is sometimes tricky because there is so much choice. We still discover new restaurants every year, so if you find something nice, let us know! Here are some of our favourites.

  • Le Couvent à Bélaye - a tapas restaurant with the most beautiful view in the Lot. Reservations are definitely recommended and can easily be made via e-mail - more info
